Bucknell's Grap Named Patriot League Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Junior thrower Marjorie Grap (Van Etten/Spencer-Van Etten), of Bucknell's women's indoor track and field team, received the Patriot League's Indoor Female Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Jan. 9-15, for the second consecutive week and for the fifth time in her career.
Grap won the weight throw on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Black Squirrel Invitational, in Kent, Ohio, with a heave of 59 feet, 1 1/4 inches, shattering her own school record of 58-9 1/4. She also placed seventh in the shot-put with a throw of 42-3 1/4.
During the first meet of the season, at the Bison Opener on Dec. 3, 2005, Grap secured a spot at the ECAC Indoor Championships, with the 58-9 1/4 toss.
The Bison will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 21, as they host the Bucknell Heptagonal.
