Bison Women's Golf Competes on Day One of Notre Dame Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Bucknell women's golf team currently stands in 13th after two rounds of play at the Notre Dame Invitational at the par 72, 6,003-yard Warren Golf Course.
The Bison posted a score of 666 (330-336) for the 13th spot out of 17 teams competing in the two-day event. The host Fighting Irish lead the tournament with a score of 617 (311-306) after day one, holding a 10-stroke advantage over second-place Bradley University and 11 strokes ahead of third-place Georgetown.
Teri Schlang shot an 86 and a 79 for a total of 165 over two rounds to lead the Bison. She currently sits in a tie for 46th out of 90 competitors. Just one stroke behind her were Emily Chiodo and Amy Loughney with a 36-hole total of 166, good for 51st overall. Chiodo shot a 79 in the first round and an 87 in the second while Loughney shot an 82 in the first round and an 84 in the second. Rounding out the Bucknell competitors were Kristen Phalen with a score of 171 (85-86) in a tie for 65th and Kathryn Batchelor in 69th with a total of 172 (84-88).
Notre Dame's Noriko Nakazaki currently leads the field and is one over par with a 145 (72-73).
The Bison continue play on Sunday, Sept. 11., on the final day of the Notre Dame Invitational.
