LEWISBURG, Pa. - Daryl Seymour, a 2005 Bucknell graduate and a key defender on the Bison's nationally ranked men's lacrosse team last spring, was selected in the fourth round of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) draft by the San Jose Stealth.
Like many Native Americans, Seymour grew up playing lacrosse indoors and should be well suited to the NLL's close confines and physical style. Seymour earned four varsity letters at Bucknell and did not miss a game from the beginning of his sophomore season on.
In 2005 he helped lead Bucknell to an 8-5 record, a No. 14 final national ranking and a share of the Patriot League regular season title (5-1). At 6'4", 230 pounds, he was one of Bucknell's most physical defenders, playing both short-stick defensive midfield and close defense throughout his career.
Seymour, the 36th overall player taken in the draft, joins a San Jose team that finished 4-12 last season. He joins recent Bucknell alums Chris Cara, Justin Sussman and Hugh Donovan who have played in the professional lacrosse ranks.
