Liz Jordan Named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior Liz Jordan, goalkeeper for the Bucknell field hockey team, received the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week honor for her efforts between the posts last Saturday. The senior is the first Bison athlete to receive the honor during the 2005-06 school year.
Bucknell field hockey kicked off its season on Saturday against the Vermont Catamounts. The match ended in a 2-1 overtime loss for the Bison.
Jordan, a two-time All-Patriot League goalie, recorded an impressive eight saves off Vermont's 14 shots in the first half. She recorded 16 total saves on the day, including an amazing diving stick save off a penalty corner shot in overtime.
Saturday's performance puts the goalkeeper at 301 career saves, with 85 goals against.
Jordan and the rest of the Bucknell field hockey team will return to action on Tuesday, Aug. 30, when it travels to Philadelphia to battle the Drexel Dragons at 4 p.m.
