LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's tennis team clobbered Lafayette 7-0, on Sunday in Lewisburg, Pa. In a dominating performance, the Bison rackets won all but one singles match in straight sets, including two 6-0, 6-0 shutouts. The Bison were just as impressive in doubles play, allowing only two Leopard points in three matches.
Veronica Brown and Nada Curcic were winners, as usual, hammering Lafayette's Lauren Clarke and Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung at one doubles, 8-0. The win is the duo's 14th-consecutive victory. Chelsea Mills and Tanya Sichko were tough at two doubles, pounding Chez Saricas and Jacqui Rondes, 8-1. At three doubles, Rheanna Gaskin and Daniella Shtemberg crushed Danielle Bailey and Stephanie Rosman, 8-1.
Curcic got a rare test from Saricas at one singles, but managed to pull out her 14th-straight singles victory, winning 6-7, 6-4, 10-5. The rest of the matches were all Bucknell, with Shtemberg beating Fung-Kee-Fung at two singles, 6-3, 6-4.
