
Bucknell Gives Up 4-2 Match to UMBC in Women's Tennis Action

CATONSVILLE, Md. - Suffering a rare loss, the Bison women's tennis fell to UMBC 4-2 on Wednesday, in Catonsville, Md. Nada Curcic kept her win-streak alive, winning her 15th-straight. Likewise, Curcic and doubles partner Veronica Brown are still riding their winning wave, also picking up their 15th-consective victory.
Curcic and Brown were the only Bison team to win a doubles match, upending UMBC's Aimee Lim and Ale Pedergnana, 8-5, at one doubles. Curcic and Brown were also responsible for Bucknell's two points, with Curcic taking out Pedergnana at one singles, 7-5, 6-2. Brown got the win at two singles, easily defeating Lim, 6-1, 6-1.
The seventh and final point was not awarded as Chelsea Mills' matchup against Pascaline Cette was suspended due to darkness.
The Bison will play in the Patriot League tournament this weekend. The tournament will begin on Saturday, April 16. The Bison, the second-seed in the tourney, will take on Lehigh at 2 p.m. in West Point, N.Y. The winner will face the winner of the Army/Colgate match at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
