I woke up at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast. We headed to the practice field at 9:15 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. training session which consisted of a very long warm up and stretch conducted by our team trainer as everyone was very sore. We then worked on some first step sprinting drills for a few minutes after the warm up. Next we moved into a possession drill where we played to corners of the field, a type of keep-away drill for about minutes. We then moved into a 30-minute scrimmage where the level of play was very competitive and followed that with a 10-minute cool-down run and then an ab routine to end the session.
After lunch we had a 1:30 union meeting with some league representatives and at 3 p.m. we had an optional lower body workout at the local gym, which I attended. We did a number of leg exercises with low weights and high reps. At 6:45 p.m. we headed over to the local Italian restaurant once again where we went as a team to enjoy another meal. After that we hung out, relaxed and watched television until it was time to go to bed.
