
Bucknell Men's Lacrosse Defeats Holy Cross 12-5

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell scored the first five, and the last five, goals of the game as the Bison defeated Holy Cross 12-5 in a Patriot League men's lacrosse game at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon. Bucknell improved to 3-2 overall, 2-0 in the Patriot League with the victory.
Chris Cara led the Bison with five goals and three assists in the contest. Three of his goals, the 13th, 14th and 15th of the season for the senior, came in succession in the fourth quarter as Bucknell outscored the Crusaders 5-0 in the game's final quarter.
The Bison took a 7-2 lead when Patrick Christensen scored with 7:08 left in the second quarter, but Holy Cross scored the next three goals to cut the lead to 7-5. The Crusaders final goal came with 8:23 left in the third quarter when Paul LeBlanc netted his second goal of the game.
Christensen, who had two goals, and Brian Gargan, who registered three, joined Cara with multiple goals for Bucknell. Cara assisted on two of Gargan's three scores.
Matt Baran played all 60 minutes in goal for the Bison and made 13 saves as he faced 18 shots. Bucknell pelted Holy Cross goalie Matt Fallon with 24 shots, of which, Fallon stopped 12.
After three consecutive home games, Bucknell returns to the road for the second time this season with a game at Pennsylvania at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.
