BRADENTON, Fla. - The Bison baseball team suffered a tough 2-0 loss to Dartmouth on Friday in Bradenton, Fla. Matt Curry took the loss for Bucknell, falling to 0-3 on the season. Curry threw four and two thirds innings, striking out eight batters.
Dartmouth (1-0) scored first when Erik Bell, who had reached on a dropped third strike, crossed the plate on a double steal with runners advancing from first to second, and third to home. Bison Curry managed a pitching rarity during the inning, striking out four Dartmouth batters.
The Green brought another run around in the bottom of the fifth as Seth Emery scored on a Marty Hebert single to right field bringing the score to 2-0.
Ryan Gryskevicz had a good day at the plate, going 2-for-3, accounting for two of Bucknell's five hits. Matt Capece, Chris Grandizio, and Brian Day also registered a hit apiece.
Due to yesterday's rainout, the game was limited to seven innings of play. The Bison will play the final game of their spring break trip tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. against Ohio State. The Bison may play a second game on the day if they can schedule a location to make up yesterday's Miami (Ohio) matchup.
