LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Ty Lagoni was named the Patriot League Player of the Week and freshman Brady Hoar was named the Patriot League Rookie of the week announced by the league office on Monday.Â
Bucknell collected two of the three weekly awards after the Bison opened Patriot League play with a three-game sweep over Lafayette at Depew Field at Marren Park.

He singled in his first three at-bats, putting the Bison on the board with an RBI single in the first inning. The Leopard scut the Bison lead to two runs before Lagoni provided some insurance with an RBI triple later in the game.
Lagoni did not get a hit in game two until the sixth inning, but the shortstop came in clutch with a two-run single to tie the game 8-8. The Bison went on to win 9-8 to win the series. He then had another RBI single as the Bison shutout the Leopards 8-0 in the series finale.
Hoar got the start on the mound in the shutout win to complete the sweep on Sunday. Hoar continued his strong start in his debut season with six shutout innings with only three hits allowed in his second win of the season.
The right-hander set a new career high with seven strikeouts. He opened the game with three no-hit innings as the Bison grabbed a 1-0 lead. He got into some trouble in the fourth as Lafayette loaded the bases with one out, but he fanned two batters to leave the bases loaded. He stranded another in the fifth, and stranded two in scoring position in the sixth.
Hoar has a 5.16 ERA in five starts this season. He had two tough outings this season but has had three starts of five innings or more with one run or less allowed.
