Bucknell Softball Games with Fairleigh Dickinson and IUPUI Rained Out

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Bucknell softball team was scheduled play Fairleigh Dickinson and IUPUI Thursday at the Rebel Spring Games, but the contests were cancelled due to steady rains in Central Florida. The Bison will take on Wisconsin-Green Bay and Rider Friday, the final day of competition at the Rebel Spring Games.
Bucknell stands at 3-4 through its first seven games of the 2005 campaign. The Bison defeated Northern Colorado and lost to Butler twice in their three games Wednesday. Five Bucknell players are hitting better than .300 with Lauren Wible leading the way at .524. She also leads the team in runs batted in (five) and doubles (four). Freshman Christie Wiest has been the top pitcher through the first seven games. She has a 2-0 record with a team-best 1.25 ERA. She has allowed just 18 hits in 22.1 innings while striking out a team-high 13 hitters.
Bucknell's first game Friday is at 2:20 p.m. against the Phoenix. The last game of the week for the Bison is at 6 p.m. against the Broncs.
