Adam Freeman and Erika Mannix Qualify for NCAA Zone 'A' Diving Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bison divers Adam Freeman and Erika Mannix have qualified to compete at the NCAA Zone `A' Diving Championships this weekend in Annapolis, Md. Over 50 divers will contend for spots at the 2005 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Freeman has been the top male diver for the Bison this season and finishing first in a combined total of seven diving events. He finished runner-up in the one-meter at the Patriot League Championships and notched a fourth-place performance in the three-meter. Freeman is the school record holder in the one-meter dive and the three-meter dive (11-dive format). He was named the Patriot League Male Diver of the Week and the ECAC Male Diver of the Week during the season.

Mannix, the school record holder in both diving events, is capping off a stellar freshman campaign in which she was named the Patriot League Female Diver of the Week an impressive four times and was also named the ECAC Female Diver of the Week on one occasion. Mannix, who won a total of five diving events this season, is coming off a fourth place finish in the one-meter dive and a five-place showing in the three-meter dive at last month's Patriot League Championships.
Competition begins on Friday and 1 p.m. and continues on Saturday at 11 a.m. Only four divers from both the men's and women's competitions will receive invitations to represent the Northeast Region at the NCAA Championships. The Women's NCAA Championship will be held on March 17-19 in West Lafayette, Ind., as the men's championship is slated for March 24-26 in Minneapolis, Minn.
