WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Patriot League announced the field hockey major award winners at the Patriot League Tournament banquet, held at American University, in Washington, D.C., on Friday evening. Senior goalkeeper Liz Jordan (Towson, Md./St. Pauls) received the PL's Goalkeeper of the Year award, while freshman Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) shared the Rookie of the Year award with American's Irene Schickhardt.
Jordan, recently named to the All-PL First Team, is currently leading the league in saves (181), save percentage (.823) and saves per game (10.65), while also sitting second in the nation in save percentage and tied for third in saves. The senior goalkeeper received two Defensive Player of the Week awards from the league and also received an ECAC Goalie of the Week award this season. Jordan currently ranks eighth in league history in career saves with 466.
Jordan has been a key factor in Bucknell's success this season, while she has come through with incredible, diving saves on many occasions, including a 2-1 double-overtime victory against the PL's Lehigh and a 3-2 overtime victory against league foe Holy Cross.
