LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell field hockey's senior goalkeeper Liz Jordan (Towson, Md./St. Paul's) received the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award, for the second time this season, while freshman Amanda Faust (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) picked up her first league award of her career, in the Rookie of the Week award.
Last week, the Bison defeated Towson, 2-1, in a non-conference match-up and also downed Lehigh, 2-1, in double overtime, to secure second place in the Patriot League.
Jordan recorded 14 saves against Towson, allowing just one goal. Against Lehigh, she compiled 25 saves, for a new career high, and allowed just one goal through. Her 25 saves marks the second-highest game total by a Patriot League goalie this season.
The senior goalie currently leads the PL with 181 saves, 10.65 saves per game and with a .823 save percentage.
Faust recorded six interceptions against Towson, while recording two positive tackles and three interceptions against Lehigh. She played exceptional defense and did not allow her mark any goals in both contests.
On the season, Faust is leading the team with six defensive saves, and is second one the squad with six goals scored and six assists.
Bucknell will head to Washington, D.C., this weekend for the Patriot League Tournament, where it will battle the number-three team, Holy Cross. The game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, November 5. If the Bison win, they will play on Sunday against the winner of the No. 5 American and Lehigh game.
