LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell field hockey freshman midfielder Steph Graf (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East) was named the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon. The honor is the first in Graf's career and is also the first league honor of the season for the Bison.
Graf scored her first goal of the season against PL foe No. 4 American, on Saturday, Oct. 1, to put Bucknell up 1-0 at the half. American came back against the Bison and scored three goals in the second half, while preventing any other tallies from Bucknell.
The freshman also recorded four interceptions and three positive tackles against the Eagles, while only shooting once, for a perfect shot percentage of 1.000 on the day.
Graf has started in eight of 10 games for the Blue and Orange this season, while seeing action in nine of them.
The Bison will return to action on the road in a PL battle against Colgate. The match-up is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m.
