LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's soccer junior forward Jennifer Margolis (Englishtown, N.J./Manalapan) was named Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week on Monday after scoring her league-leading sixth game-winning goal of the season against American last Saturday. The award is Margolis' second of the season as she previously earned Bison Athlete of the Week honors back on Sept. 19.
Margolis netted two goals in the 3-2 victory over American, helping the Bison to their second road victory of the season in a 1-1 week. With the team down, 1-0 at 14:57, Margolis scored her first of the game as she deflected a shot by junior Shannon Curd (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) into the back of the Eagles' net. Then in the 90th minute with just 53 seconds remaining in regulation, she collected a pass from senior Kerry Fitz-Patrick (Washington, D.C./Stone Ridge Country Day) and fired the ball home.
Bucknell will play two crucial Patriot League matches on the road this weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest at Army on Friday, followed by a match at Holy Cross on Sunday at 1 p.m.
