Bucknell Women's Tennis Completes First Day of Competition at Fall Classic

Bucknell's women's tennis team completed its first day of competition, while hosting the Bucknell Fall Classic, on Friday evening in Lewisburg, Pa. As of 8 p.m., six Bison secured places in tomorrow's quarter-final matches in the main draw bracket.
Junior Chelsea Mills (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) dominated Breann Cheung of the University of Connecticut in her only singles match of the day, 6-1, 6-2, while freshman JoAnna Grossman (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park High School) also won her lone singles match handily over Amy Hosotsuji of Long Island.
The doubles pair of Veronica Brown (Derwood, Md./Colonel Zadok Magruder) and Paulina Gamboa (Mexico City, Mexico/Greengates School), along with the duo of Ashley Globerman (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown High School) and Grossman advanced in tomorrow's bracket with byes.
Action will continue tomorrow, beginning at 9 a.m. and will conclude on Sunday.
