PRINCETON, N.J. - Aaron Platshon (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo), Josh Sunday (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and Kyle Roslyn (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter) each scored three goals to lead the Bucknell men's water polo team to an 11-3 league victory over George Washington Saturday morning at DeNunzio Pool.
The Bison improved to 6-12 overall and 2-1 in Southern Division play with the victory.
Bucknell jumped out to a 5-2 halftime lead in the first of two meetings between the teams this year. The Bison then outscored the Colonials 6-1 after intermission on their way to the easy 11-3 win.
Bucknell scored 11 goals, its most since a 13-11 overtime victory against Salem International Sept. 11, without any of the top three goal scorers on the squad tallying more than one goal. However, Brad Roslyn (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter) and Jason Rechel (Columbus, Ohio/Thomas Worthington), who were tied for second on the team with 19 goals entering the game, each found the back of the net once. Roslyn also added a season-high three assists.
Trevor Mullins (Orinda, Calif./Palo Alto), who made 32 saves in three games at last weekend's ECAC Championship, registered 10 stops against the Colonials to push his season save percentage to .489.
The Bison will return home Sunday, Oct. 2, to face league foes No. 12 Princeton at 12 p.m. and Salem International at 3 p.m. The Princeton contest will be broadcast live on WVBU FM 90.5 and www.SportsJuice.com.
