Nada Curcic Wins One, Loses One in Final Day of Cornell Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. - Nada Curcic was the only Bison tennis player left in the field on the final day of competition at the Cornell Invitational, Sunday in Ithaca, N.Y. Curcic came away with one win and one loss on the afternoon defeating UMBC's Aimee Lim and falling to Zeynap Altinay of Binghamton.
Curcic lost to Jelena Koprivica of Binghamton, 6-7 (4), 1-6, in her first round match on Saturday to move into the back draw of "A" bracket. Curcic then received a bye to advance to Sunday's matches where she bested Lim of UMBC, 6-1, 6-0. In the back draw final, Curcic fell to Altinay of Binghamton, 6-3, 6-3.
Aside from Curcic's win, the Bison collected two singles wins and one doubles victory on the weekend with Daniella Shtemberg and Chelsea Mills each winning a singles matches on Saturday. On Friday, Rheanna Gaskin and Mills combined for a win in the first round of the "B" doubles bracket.
The Bison will be in action again on Feb. 12, against Quinnipiac in Hamden, Conn. The dual match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
