HAMDEN, Conn. - Bucknell women's tennis player Nada Curcic had a huge day for the Bison on the final day of competition Sunday at the Quinnipiac Invitational. Curcic won the A bracket in singles action and teamed with Veronica Brown to win the A flight in the doubles portion of the tournament.
In singles competition, Curcic racked up four wins on the weekend including the victory that earned her the tournament title. In the final match, Curcic gave up the first set but rallied to defeat Jill Markowitz of Rutgers, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
In doubles action, Curcic and Brown also notched four wins on their championship run. Curcic and Brown won an all-Bucknell final match defeating fellow Bison Tanya Sichko and Daniella Shtemberg, 8-1.
Bucknell also had another singles competitor in the finals of the B bracket. Shtemberg lost, 0-6, 2-6, to Christine Ong of Army in the bracket final.
