Bucknell's Nada Curcic Wins Second Tournament Title in as Many Weekends

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell's Nada Curcic won her second singles title in as many tournaments for the Bison women's tennis squad. Curcic, the tournament's top seed, defeated Candice Carlin of Villanova, 7-6 (2), 6-4, in the flight A final on Sunday at the Bucknell Invitational.
Earlier in the day, Curcic beat teammate Tanya Sichko in the bracket semifinal, 6-1, 6-4. Veronica Brown, one of Bucknell's three flight A semifinalists, lost to Carlin of Villanova, 6-2, 6-2, in the other semifinal match.
Other Sunday winners for the Bison included Chelsea Mills and Rheanna Gaskin in the B bracket of the tournament. Both Mills and Gaskin won their second round match on Sunday before falling in their third round contest. In the C flight, Jill Merselis picked up a win for the Bison in her quarterfinal match before bowing out in the semifinal.
After taking next weekend off, the Bison women's tennis squad will be in action against St. Joseph's on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The match is set to start at 3 p.m. on the Bucknell tennis courts.
