ITHACA, N.Y. - Charlie Waddell is 3-under par and the Bucknell men's golf team carded rounds of 293 and 299 to sit in fourth place after 36 holes of the 54-hole Cornell Invitational, played at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
Waddell is tied for second place individually along with Cornell's Robert Fritz but sits six strokes behind Rider's Josh Krumholz, who fired rounds of 67 and 68 Saturday, good for 9-under. Krumholz led the Broncs to the team lead as well. Rider is just 5-over as a team after rounds of 292-289, but four teams are separated by just four strokes for second place.
Penn is currently second at 590, nine strokes behind Rider. Right on the Quakers' heels are Cornell (591), Bucknell (592) and St. Joseph's (594), with sixth-place Robert Morris at 597.
Also for Bucknell Saturday, Tom Lane shot 72-76 and is tied for 16th. Alex Dolle and Ben Pellicani both shot 75-77 and are tied for 34th, while freshman Keita Aoki, making his collegiate debut, shot 78-76 and is tied for 46th.
The 16-team field returns to the course for 18 more holes on Sunday. The resurgent Bison won the Colgate Invitational two weeks ago before getting rained out last weekend at their home tournament.
