Pair of Bucknell Home Soccer Matches to be Broadcast this Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. - For the first time this season the Bucknell men's and women's soccer teams will be playing at West Fields on back-to-back days when they take the field this weekend, Sept. 25 and 26. Also for the first time this year, the two teams will have their games broadcast locally in the Lewisburg area on 1380-AM WMLP and free of charge on the internet at www.SportsJuice.com.
The women open the weekend schedule Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. against in-state rival Lafayette. The men follow the next day with their Patriot League opener against Army at 2 p.m. Doug Birdsong, Bucknell's coordinator of radio, television, marketing and promotions, as well as lead play-by-play voice of the Bison Sports Network, will call the action for both games. He will be joined in the booth by men's head coach Brendan Nash for the women's broadcast and by women's assistant coach Sue Willard for the men's broadcast.
Coverage will start 15 minutes prior to kickoff with a pre-game show each day.
The Bison women's team, currently 3-4-0, 0-1-0 PL, faces Cornell Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y. The men (0-4-1, 0-0-0 PL) host NJIT Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at West Fields.
