Bucknell QB Daris Wilson Named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell senior quarterback Daris Wilson (Kenner, La./Archbishop Rummel) was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading Bucknell to a 15-9 victory over Cornell at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium Saturday night.
Wilson accrued 255 total yards against the Big Red, 139 coming on the ground. The last of those yards came on 1-yard touchdown run with 3:40 remaining in the contest that provided the winning margin. Earlier on that drive, Wilson completed a 49-yard pass to Nisan Trotter and ran 20 yards himself to the Cornell 1, setting up the winning score one play later.
Wilson, who had his fifth career 100-yard rushing effort, also completed 7 of 9 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. He also threw a 2-point conversion pass.
Wilson, who went over the 1,000 career rushing yard plateau on Saturday, has completed 17 of 22 passes for a league-best .773 percentage on the season. He also ranks fourth in the Patriot League in rushing at 85.5 yards per game and second in total offense at 193.0 yards per game.
Now 1-1 on the season, the Bison host Columbia this Saturday at 7 p.m.
