LEWISBURG, Pa. - The soggy conditions that have prevailed over the month of April in the Susquehanna Valley have prompted the postponement of the Bucknell-UMBC men's and women's tennis matches, originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, to Friday, April 16. Both matches are still scheduled for a 3 p.m. start at the Bucknell tennis courts.
The men's tennis team (7-8, 1-4 PL) begins the last two weeks of its regular season this afternoon at 4 p.m. against Navy, wrapping up the regular season. The women (13-3, 2-3 PL) were eliminated from Patriot League postseason contention on Saturday with a loss to Army and a Lehigh victory over Colgate, while the league tournament remains a possibility for the men's squad only with a win today over Navy.
The teams are scheduled to play Mount St. Mary's on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. with the UMBC match on the following day. The men will play Binghamton in Lewisburg on Sunday at 12 p.m., while both teams will wrap up the regular season at Bloomsburg on Wednesday, April 21. Should the men qualify, the Patriot League Tournament will be held April 24-25 at the league's highest seed.
