BOSTON, Mass. - Bucknell had just two entries on the first day of competition at the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships at Boston, Mass., as Aaron Hanlon finished eighth in his preliminary of the 800 meter run and the 4x800 relay team took 17th overall. Hanlon's 800 time is the seventh-fastest in Bucknell history.
Hanlon finished the race in 1:52.18, the fastest 800 at Bucknell since the 1:51.87 run by Ron Hess in 2000. Though he finished eighth, Hanlon came in just .80 seconds behind the race's winner, Isaiah Cartledge of Long Island University.
The Bucknell 4x800 relay team finished in 7:46.45. Bucknell did not factor in the team scores, as no Bison was entered in any of the four scored events on day one of competition: 3000-meter run, pole vault, long jump, and 35-lb. weight. The competition concludes Sunday.
