Bison Women's Water Polo Drops 7-4 Decision to George Washington

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bucknell women's water polo team dropped its second-straight game, losing a 7-4 decision to George Washington on Sunday, March 28. The Bison were playing their final games of the weekend at the Southern Division League Games at Princeton.
George Washington held a 2-1 lead at halftime, and proceeded to outscore the Orange and Blue 5-3 in the second half to come away with the three-goal victory.
Senior Kelly Hofstetter and junior Meg Blitzer each recorded one goal and one assist in the contest. Scoring BU's other goals were junior Cody Keffer and freshman Elizabeth Jensen.
Defensively, junior Katie Hartigan led the team with two steals, while rookie Mallory Sullivan had a team-high two ejections drawn. Freshman Mandy Bynum made 10 saves for the squad.
Bucknell falls to 10-13 overall and 3-4 in league play. The Bison face Villanova in the final game of the weekend at 1:40 p.m.
