LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell head swimming and diving coach Jerry Foley, along with swimmer Todd Bauer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton), taught approximately 100 kids aged 10-18 last Sunday in an NCAA Youth Education through Sports (YES) clinic held in conjunction with the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Goodwill Games Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.
The four-hour clinic was provided free and taught life skills, conditioning, and instructional skills. Coaches from Ohio State, James Madison, Georgetown, St. Bonaventure, Columbia, and Texas Christian also participated.
"I was honored to have the opportunity to instruct the participants and give back to the sport of swimming," said Foley.
Foley coaches both the men's and women's squads at Bucknell. The women's team won their second consecutive Patriot League title, while the men finished second. Bauer scored in all three events he entered at the league meet, including the 200 free (16th), 500 free (sixth), and 1650 free (second).
