RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Junior Meg Blitzer scored four goals and assisted on another, but it was not enough as the Bison women's water polo team dropped a 10-6 decision at Cal Baptist on its annual spring break trip to California, Tuesday, March 16.
The Orange and Blue found themselves in a 5-0 hole at halftime, and sat in a 9-1 deficit entering the final quarter. BU did outscore Cal Baptist 5-1 in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late for the squad.
In addition to Blitzer, senior Kelly Hofstetter and junior Katie Hartigan each scored once and assisted on another goal. Junior Ashley Aiken handed out two assists in the loss.
Freshman Mandy Bynum made nine saves in the contest while allowing 10 goals.
Bucknell falls to 7-8 overall. The team will play Occidental at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17.
