ORLANDO, Fla. - The Bison women's tennis team continued its successful spring, beating Franklin & Marshall 5-1 in the second match of its Spring Break trip to Orlando, Fla. Bucknell improved its record to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in spring duals.
The teams decided to skip doubles play due to the rain that affected the Orlando area on Tuesday.
Veronica Brown won at first singles, beating Jen Dubow, 6-0, 6-3, while Rheanna Gaskin beat Katie Gaskins, 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 at second singles. On court three, Nadezda Curcic won over Marie Papalia, 6-1, 6-0, while Tanya Sichko beat Beth Conner, 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles. Bucknell's only singles loss of the day went to Samantha Berthod, who fell to Elizabeth Denenberg, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. At sixth singles, Chelsea Mills beat Lauren Hagadorn, 6-0, 6-1.
The Bison will look to add to the winning side of the ledger once again on Tuesday against Hamilton at 12 p.m. in Orlando, Fla.
