Bucknell Closes Lancer Invitational with 13-2 Loss to 20th-ranked Northridge

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Facing a nationally ranked Division I team for the first time on the West Coast swing, the Bison women's water polo team had its work cut out for it in a 13-2 loss to #20 Northridge in the final game of the Lancer Invitational at Cal Baptist on Saturday, March 13.
Northridge held the Orange and Blue without a goal in the first half while building a 5-0 lead by intermission. Bucknell finally got on the board with two goals in the third period, but the score was 9-2 by the end of the frame. Northridge tacked on another four goals in the fourth for the convincing victory.
Senior Kelly Hofstetter and junior Cody Keffer accounted for all of Bucknell's points with each scoring once, and assisting on the other's goal. Both players also led the team with two steals.
Freshman goalkeeper Mandy Bynum played the three quarters, making seven saves while allowing nine goals. Freshman Katie Colgan played the final quarter, giving up four goals.
Bucknell falls to 7-7 overall and will face Cal Baptist in a single-game on Tuesday, March 16, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
