Eleven Bucknell Women, Five Men Selected to All-League Swimming and Diving Teams

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sixteen members of the Bucknell swimming and diving teams were honored by being named to the All-Patriot League squad. Eleven Bison women were named between the first and second team, while five members of the men's team were nominated.
Lectie Altman (Syracuse, N.Y/Nottingham), Daniela Faas (Ludwigshafen, Germany/Worcester Acad.), Meghan Freese (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock), Jackie Feinthel (Cranford, N.J./Cranford), Jennifer Cancro (Pearl River, N.J./Immaculate Heart), and Laura Goeller (Wilmington, Del./Tower Hill) all made the league's first team on the women's side. Altman won a gold medal in the 200 back and a silver in the 100 back, while also scoring from fourth place in the 200 free. Faas won gold in the 400 IM and silver in the 1650 free, while also scoring in the 500 free. Freese was the league champion in the 50 free and 100 free, and came in third in the 100 back. Feinthel won gold in the 200 fly while also scoring in the 400 IM and 500 free. Cancro earned a bronze both in the 500 free and 1650 free, while placing fifth in the 200 free. Goeller scored in the 200 back, 200 IM, and 400 IM. In addition to their individual success, five of the six Bison on the women's all-league first team medaled in at least one relay event.
Five Bison women made the league's second team, including Jamie Flick (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg), Rebecca Scheffter (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore), Nikki Woodward (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow), Carlyn Donley (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic), and Katherine Munson (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield). Flick earned silver medals in the 100 and 200 breast events, while also scoring in the 200 IM. Scheffter scored points in three events, including the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 back. Woodward scored in the 200 IM and 200 fly, and had a bronze in the 400 IM. Donley scored in the 200, 500, and 1650 free events, while Munson scored in the 100 back, 200 back, and 200 fly. Scheffter was also part of two silver medal relay teams, while Flick was part of one.
The men's first team contained three Bison, including Mark Kretzer (Northport, N.Y./Harborfields), William Schilling (Murrysville, Pa./Radnor), and Peter Garvin (Silver Spring, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel). Kretzer was an individual champ in the 100 back, while getting a silver medal in the 200 fly and scoring in the 100 fly as well. Schilling was an individual champ in the 100 breast while getting a silver in the 200 breast. Garvin scored in three events, including the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly.
Two Bison, Jack Sheehan (Wenonah, N.J./Gateway Regional) and Todd Bauer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton), were honored on the league's second team. Sheehan scored in the 200 back, 200 IM, and 400 IM, while Bauer got a silver in the 1650 free and scored in the 200 and 500 free events as well.
The Bucknell women's team won its second-straight Patriot League crown at the league meet held Feb. 26-28, while the men's team came in second after winning the title in 2003.
