Bucknell Men's Tennis Swept on St. Bonaventure Trip, Fall to Buffalo, 5-2

OLEAN, N.Y. - The Bucknell men's tennis team left St. Bonaventure's campus in Olean, N.Y., without a win on Saturday, falling to Buffalo, 5-2, a day after getting swept by the host Bonnies, 7-0. Asher Salam and Matt Pikus won their singles matches, and Aaron Saperstein teamed with Gerald DiChiara to win one of the three doubles matches against the Bulls.
Nick Denefrio and Matt Pikus fell to Randy Rocchio and Nick Zieziula of Buffalo, 8-4, at number one doubles, while Buffalo clinched the doubles point with a win by Ivan Chamdani and Yules Hadisubroto over Bucknell's Asher Salam and Joe Menezes, 8-5. DiChiara and Saperstein's win came over Joe Popielarczyk and Mike Zappone, 8-6. Bucknell fell in an exhibition doubles match, with Brian Cohen and Wes Madara losing to Josh Liederman and Rangga Prayudha, 8-2.
At number one singles, Denefrio lost to Rocchio, 6-1, 6-3, and DiChiara lost to Ziezula, 6-1, 6-4, at second singles. Salam's win came at third singles over Liederman, 6-3, 6-4, and Pikus' at fourth singles, 7-6(5), 6-4, over Prayudha. But Menezes and Saperstein lost their singles matches, Menezes on court five to Hadisubroto, 6-2, 6-3, and Saperstein to Chamdani, 6-4, 6-2, at sixth singles.
Bucknell is off until March 14, when it begins its spring break trip at Orlando, Fla., against Fairfield.
