LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell swimming and diving have claimed two of the four Patriot League Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honors for the third straight week. This time, Alex List (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) and Sarah Petcavage (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) have won the Patriot League Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards, respectively. The award is a career first for List, who also claims the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference's award, and the second in three weeks for Petcavage.
Freshman List claimed the women's swimming award for taking the 500 free by 12.75 seconds over Army's Sarah Turner, and besting her own Bucknell career record by 15.22 seconds. Senior Petcavage was Bucknell's most consistent diver on Saturday, winning the one-meter competition with 214.80 points and coming in second to teammate Lisa Rockwell in the three-meter competition with 383.45 points.
The Patriot League awards are the eighth and ninth of the season for Bucknell swimming and diving. Peter Garvin and Lectie Altman won the awards Feb. 10 for accruing several swimming wins each in a dual meet at Lehigh. Todd Bauer took the men's swimming award Feb. 3 while Petcavage won the women's diving award for the league and the ECAC on that date. Diver Jake Thompson won the Patriot League and ECAC awards on January 20, while Meghan Freese captured back-to-back Patriot League Swimmer of the Week honors on November 11 and 18.
Bucknell's swimmers and divers will be off this weekend but will return to the pool for the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships held Feb. 26-28 at Navy's Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md.
