Bucknell Edges Out Navy On The Road, 54-52

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Kevin Bettencourt scored 17 points, including a crucial 3-point basket with 1:40 to play, as Bucknell beat Navy 54-52 on Saturday.
With 5.9 seconds left, John Clark made the second of two free throws to put Bucknell up by two. Navy turned the ball over on its final possession.
It was the first road win for Bucknell (11-12, 7-3 Patriot) at Navy since Jan. 23. 1993 - breaking a string of 13 straight road losses to the Mids.
For Navy (3-20, 0-10) it was the 11th loss in a row and gave the Mids their third straight 20-loss season.
Navy led 44-38 with 6:37 to play, but the Bison outscored the Mids 16-to-8 the rest of the way. A 10-0 run gave Bucknell the lead, the last three baskets coming off turnovers by Navy.
Navy closed to 50-49 with 1:58 to play, but Bettencourt's 3-pointer put the Bison up 53-49.
Charles Lee had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Bison. Mike Higgins had a career-high 14 points to lead Navy, while Chika Onyekanne tied his career-high with 12 points.
