LEWISBURG, Pa. - Senior co-captain Ori Adrabi scored two goals as the Bucknell men's soccer team posted a 1-0-1 record last week to clinch a berth in the Patriot League's postseason tournament. For his efforts, Adrabi was named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and was cited as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week.
In the second contest of the week, a 2-2 tie with Patriot League foe Holy Cross, Adrabi netted his fifth goal of the season in the 76th minute to slice the Crusader lead in half and get the Bison on the scoreboard. Jonathan Hemmert tied the game with just 1:20 left in regulation as the tie clinched a second consecutive postseason appearance for the Bison.
In the first match of the week, a 2-1 home victory over Philadelphia, Adrabi connected on his second game-winning goal of the season. With just 9:32 remaining in the second half, the West Hills, Calif., native stationed himself in front of the goal and took a pass from Scott Visnic that he directed into the back of the net.
Adrabi has scored five goals this year to stand second on the team. For his career, the midfielder has totaled nine goals and 10 assists. Prior to this year his career high in goals had been two.
Third-seeded Bucknell opens postseason play this Friday, Nov. 12, against second-seeded Lehigh in the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament. The contest is a rematch of last year's postseason match when the fourth-seeded Mountain Hawks upset the Bison, the top seed in the tournament. Friday's game kicks off at 11 a.m. in Washington, D.C. American, the host and top seed, will battle Lafayette at 1:30 p.m. The two winners will advance to the championship match Sunday afternoon. The winner of the contest will earn an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
