LEWISBURG, Pa. - After a full fall of field hockey action, the Patriot League announced its All-League selections on Wednesday, naming four Bison stickers to the All-League second team. Junior goalie Liz Jordan was named to the second team for the second consecutive year while senior Corin Inderbitzin-Brooks and sophomores Callista Costopoulos and Alex Kyzmir made their first All-League appearances.
Jordan (Towson, Md/St. Paul's), in her second season in the Bison goal, led the Patriot League in saves with 161, averaging 8.47 grabs per game. Her 161 saves also rank sixth in the nation. Playing strong defense in the Bison cage all season, Jordan notched a season high 24 saves against American followed by a 19 save performance against Penn State and also recorded two shutouts.
Finishing the season as Bucknell's leader in total points, Kyzmir (Lisle, N.Y./Whitney Point) had a stellar sophomore campaign at forward. In 19 games, Kyzmir tallied seven goals and eight assists for a total of 22 points. Her assist output is tied for third best in the Patriot League including a three assist performance against St. Francis that tied a school record for assists in a single game.
Costopoulos (Shermans Dale, Pa./West Perry) was third on the Bison squad with 14 total points on the season, recording five goals and four assists at the midfield position. She was named the Lewisburg Hotel Bison Athlete of the Week in early September for her game-winning goal against Quinnipiac. She is the only Bison field hockey player to receive the honor this season.
Inderbitzin-Brooks (Springfield, Va./Annandale) makes her first appearance as an All-League selection in her final season in a Bison uniform. As a team co-captain, Inderbitzin-Brooks has anchored the Bison defense since her sophomore season.
This Bison ended the season last Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Georgetown in Washington, D.C. The Bison wrapped up the 2004 campaign with a 6-13-0 overall record, 1-4 in the Patriot League.
