Bucknell Harriers Put Five in the Top 25 for Fourth Place League Finish

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Leanna Nastase was the first Bison runner to cross the finish line Saturday, at the Patriot League Championships at the Bucknell Golf Club. Nastase finished 12th overall in a time of 23:33.96 over the six-kilometer course. The rest of the Bison scorers crossed the line within 22 seconds of Nastase earning Bucknell a fourth-place finish.
Making her first appearance in the Bison top-five this season, sophomore Christa Sawko was next in line finishing 15th overall in 23:39.50. Freshman Erin Cranmer-Hart followed in 18th place (23:46.76) just ahead of junior Kayla Halloran in 19th position (23:47.29).
Katie Pfeifer, the lone senior in Bucknell's top-seven finishers, placed 25th overall (23:55.95), sealing the fourth place team finish as the fifth and final Bison scorer. Jenny Stevens placed 30th (24:05.46) and Kerryann Branker finished 38th (24:21.66) to round out the Bison top seven.
American's Keira Carlstrom ran away with the race, finishing over a minute ahead of the second place competitor. Carlstrom cruised over the course in 21:44.39 for her second-consecutive league title.
Army won the competition putting four runners in the top 10 places scoring 46 points. Navy was next in line with 56 followed by last year's champion, American, in third place with 65.
Continuing with the championship races, the Bison head to State College, Pa. for the NCAA Mid-East Regional Championship hosted by Penn State on Saturday, Nov. 13.
