LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Patriot League released its preseason men's and women's swimming polls on Wednesday with the Bucknell women ranked number one and the Bison men picked second behind Navy. The Bison women won the Patriot League title for the second consecutive year last season while the men finished second to Navy.
The Bison return five first-team All-Patriot League selections from last season's Patriot League Championships. On the women's side, junior Lectie Altman returns as the defending 200-yard backstroke champion while senior Jackie Feinthel topped the podium 200-yard fly last season. Sophomore Laura Goeller was also named to the first-team after scoring in three Patriot League events.
For the Bison men, junior Mark Kretzer won the 100-yard backstroke title last year and William Schilling, also a junior, took home the win in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Bison will take to the pool in the intersquad Blue vs. Orange Meet on Friday, Oct. 29, at 5 p.m. before kicking off the regular season hosting the Bucknell Sprint Invitational beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.
