Bucknell Men's Tennis Competes at Bloomsburg Invitational

Bloomsburg, Pa. - Coach Rebecca Helt had an opportunity today to take stock of her Bison men's tennis team in non-team scoring matches against Binghamton, Bloomsburg, and Villanova at the Bloomsburg Invitational on Saturday. The event will continue tomorrow.
Junior Joe Menezes was Bucknell's most successful singles player on the afternoon, winning both matches he played. He beat Steve Spencer of Binghamton, 7-5, 6-0, and followed it up with a 6-4, 3-6, (10-5) win over Aleks Kalezic of Bloomsburg. Freshmen Brian Cohen and Wes Madara also won singles matches, both against Bloomsburg. Cohen beat Mark Farnsworth 7-5, 1-6, (10-7) and Madara beat Kevin Warek 6-3, 7-6(3). Don Whaley picked up an exhibition win against Villanova's Sean Gallagher, 8-4 in a pro-set format.
The Bison will return to action tomorrow, where they will meet Villanova in singles, and Bloomsburg in doubles.
