Bucknell Field Hockey Selected Fourth in Patriot League Preseason Poll

Lewisburg, Pa. - Patriot League voters made their predictions for the 2003 field hockey season and have selected Bucknell fourth in the conference. The Bison garnered 38 poll points. Lafayette was selected first, followed by Holy Cross and American. Bucknell also ended last season fourth in the league, with a 7-12 overall record and 3-3 in the league.

Bucknell opens the season on Saturday, August 30, at noon against Siena. The Bison will host Drexel on September 2 at 5:00 p.m. before having its first conference game and road game on September 6 against Colgate.

The voting body consisted of Patriot League coaches and sports information directors. Coming up behind Bucknell were Fairfield in fifth, Colgate in sixth, and Lehigh in seventh.
