Phil Futrick Receives Bison Athlete of the Week Award

LEWISBURG, Pa. - On Monday, April 14, Bucknell's freshman pitcher Phil Futrick (Shillington, Pa./Govenor Mifflin) was honored Bull Run Inn Bison Athlete of the Week after capturing his eighth season save in a 1-0 win over Lehigh.
Futrick earned two saves out of the bullpen for the Orange and Blue during a four-game series against Lehigh. The rookie picked up his first save in a 3-1 seventh inning victory in game one against the Mountain Hawks. He assisted teammate Zach Allen in a 1-0 win in game three between the Bucknell and Lehigh. The freshman closer is one save away from tying the Patriot League single-season record.
Futrick has pitched 10.2 innings only allowing four hits. The one-run rookie closer has also recorded 10 strike outs and allowed only one walk.
Bucknell is scheduled to host Duquesne for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 16. The start time is slated for 1 p.m. The Bison own a 17-8 overall record and are in first-place in the Patriot League at 9-3.
