VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior Katie Stahler scored five goals to lead the Bucknell women's water polo team to an 11-10 win over Villanova in the final game of the day at the Southern Division League Games on Sunday, March 30. The Bison finished the weekend 2-2.
The Orange and Blue were consistent throughout the game, scoring three goals in each of the first three quarters and two in the final frame for the 11 goals. Bucknell jumped out to a 6-4 lead at halftime that proved crucial as the Wildcats got back within one after the third. The teams were even in scoring in the fourth as BU hung on for the one goal lead.
In addition to Stahler, freshman Kaitlin Bardoe scored multiple times with two goals and one assist.
Senior Lindsay Chesterfield made 11 saves for the Bison, while also collecting two steals.
Bucknell is 10-10 overall and 5-3 in league play. The Orange and Blue qualified for ECAC's, which will be held the weekend of April 5-6 at Princeton.
