Bucknell Women's Water Polo Loses to 13th Ranked Princeton, 11-2

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's water polo team fell into an 8-2 hole it could not overcome as the squad fell to 13th-ranked Princeton, 11-2, at the Southern Division League Games on Sunday, March 30.
Princeton jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the end of the first, and held an 8-2 lead at halftime. The Bison were shutout in the second half on the way to the 11-2 defeat.
Junior Kelly Hofstetter and sophomore Cody Keffer scored BU's goals, while senior Katie Stahler and freshman Laura Meitzner added the assists.
Defensively, senior Lindsay Chesterfield stopped nine of the nationally ranked team's shots, while also collecting two steals. Sophomores Meg Blitzer and Eileen Ketterer also registered two steals each.
Bucknell falls to 9-10 overall and 4-3 in league play. The Orange and Blue are in action next at 2:00 p.m. against Villanova in the final game of the weekend.
