Bucknell's Brian Hirschberg Named Bull Run Inn Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell junior right fielder Brian Hirschberg (Glen Rock, N.J./Glen Rock) was selected as the Bull Run Inn Bison Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, March 25. Hirschberg assisted the Bison to a 4-1 week.
Hirschberg went 4-for-4 in the first game of the weekend when he hit for the cycle, including a seventh inning grand slam. He is only the second player in Bucknell history to hit for the cycle. Hirschberg adds his name next to Bucknell Hall-of-Famer Ted Aceto, who was the first Bison to hit for the cycle versus Pittsburgh in 1989. The junior also hit a home run against Temple on Wednesday. On the week, he compiled eight runs batted in for the Bison.
The right fielder has a .361 batting average, while tallying 13 hits and 11 RBI's on the season. Hirschberg is tied for second with two home runs in the Patriot League. The junior has started in all 11 games and assisted the Bison to an 8-4 record.
The Bison will play in Villanova, Pa., against the Wildcats on Wednesday, Mar. 26. The single game will begin at 3 p.m. Bucknell will begin Patriot League play with a four-game series this weekend, March 29-30, against Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
