Bison Men Complete Final Day of ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Bucknell women's swimming and diving finish in sixth place at the ECAC Championships, while the men finished 17th. The women ended the weekend with 262 points, and the men compiled 58 points. On day three, the Bison had a number of outstanding individual performances.
Daniela Faas refreshed her own school record in the 1,650 free, with a time of 17:02.07, by over three and a half seconds. She earned a silver medal in the race. Andrea Kern finished the 1,650 free in 17:56.97 (12th). In the 200 breaststroke, Jamie Flick received a third place medal with a time of 2:21.44.
In the 200 backstroke, Lectie Altman placed fifth with a time of 2:04.23. Faas (2:07.19, 9th) and Tricia Rado (2:10.48, 14th) followed Altman in the 200 backstroke. Meghan Freese captured ninth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.19.
Lynne Ashenfelter, Freese, Rado and Krisztina Poda finished the 400 freestyle relay in 3:27.68 for an eighth place mark.
The Bison men also had a number of high showings on the last day of the championships. Stephen Schwanhausser earned a silver medal in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:04.29. William Schilling placed ninth in the same event with a time of 2:06.91.
Kurt McCoy finished the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:27.99 (14th). Mark Kretzer touched the pad at 1:56.94 in the 200 butterfly. Kretzer, Schilling, Ryan Fisher and McCoy completed the 400 freestyle relay in 3:18.46.
