Bison Held To No Runs in Two Games Spring Fling at UCF

ORLANDO, FLA. - The Bucknell softball team took a day off from the Rebel Spring Games to play Binghamton and Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. at University of Central Florida. The Bison fell in both games on Thursday, 10-0 to the Bearcats and 11-0 to the Golden Knights.
The Orange and Blue compiled four hits against Binghamton. Kristin Potts, Kris Devore and Jill Pompeii each hit a single in the game. Kelli Haskins pitched two innings, while giving up seven runs and five hits. Julie Williams came onto the mound in the third inning and finished the game. Williams pitched three innings, giving up three hits and three runs and striking out four.
In game two, Bucknell fell to Central Florida allowing UCF's pitcher Taylor Sawyer a perfect game. That was the second time in UCF school history for a pitcher to pitch a perfect five inning game. Lauren Box pitched 3.1 innings for the Bison and gave up 13 hits and 11 runs, while Williams completed 0.2 innings.
The Bison are now 0-8. Bucknell will return to the Rebel Spring Games on Friday. The Bison will face Tennessee Martin at 8:50 a.m. and St. Joseph's at 10:20 a.m.
