Three Players Score Hat Tricks In Women's Water Polo's 12-7 Win Over Villanova

SALEM, W.Va. - Senior Katie Stahler, and sophomores Meg Blitzer and Cody Keffer each scored three times, as the Bucknell women's water polo team picked up its first Southern Division League win, 12-7 against Villanova, on Saturday, March 8, 2003.
The Bison broke open a 1-1 first quarter tie with a 6-1 second frame to hold a 7-2 lead at the intermission. The Orange and Blue extended the lead to 10-4 after three, before getting outscored 3-1 in the final quarter for the 12-7 score.
In addition to Blitzer, Keffer and Stahler, junior Kelly Hofstetter, and sophomores Katie Hartigan and Eileen Ketterer each tallied once. Hofstetter also added three assists for four points. Blitzer and Stahler each recorded one helper to join Hofstetter for the team lead in points.
Defensively, Ketterer was a star with a season-high eight steals, while also recording two ejections drawn. Hofstetter, senior Lindsay Chesterfield and freshman Jennifer Meitzner each grabbed three thefts and one ejection drawn.
In addition to her steals, Chesterfield made eight stops in goal for Bucknell.
The Bison improve to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in league play. BU is in action next against George Washington at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2003.
