Jamie Flick Named Female Athlete of the Month for Swimming

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell sophomore Jamie Flick (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) has received the January Athlete of the Month for swimming from local co-sponsors K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women.
The December and January awards were announced at the monthly Bucknell Women's Sports Luncheon, held Thursday, Feb. 6. Sponsored by K.I.C.K.S. Marshall Arts for Women and Curves for Women, the luncheon recognizes one outstanding student-athlete from each Bucknell women's sport in season at that time. The other winners for the months of December and January, as selected by their respective coaches, were Desire Almind and Molly Creamer for basketball and Amy Calvo and Tolulope Fayanjuola for indoor track and field.
Flick has seven individual gold medals and assisted the Bison relay with six first place finishes during dual meets for the 2002-03 regular season. Against Lafayette, Flick finished first in the 100-freestyle with a time of 55.99. She captured the gold in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:26.44 at Colgate. Flick marked her season's best, 1:05.97, in the 100-breaststroke against Lehigh. Flick was named Female Patriot League Swimmer of the week on Jan. 21.
The Bison completed the regular season with a 7-0 record and will host the Patriot League Championships in Kinney Natatorium on Feb. 20-22.
The next Women's Sport Luncheon will be held on Thursday, Mar. 6 at noon.
