Bison Swimming and Diving Close Day One of ECAC Championships

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's swimming and diving teams began a three-day series of events at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, on Friday. The Bison women stand seventh out of 26 scoring teams, while the men participated in one event and stand 17th.
Meghan Freese led the Bison with a third place finish in the 50 free (23.76). Freese assisted Jamie Flick, Krisztina Poda and Lynne Ashenfelter to a sixth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:38.67). In the 500 freestyle, Daniela Faas finished with a time of 5:04.81 for 10th place. With a time of 3:56.19, Lectie Altman, Flick, Lauren Mosler and Freese grabbed ninth place in the 400 medley relay.
Competing in only one event, the Bison men stand 17th with 14 points. Mark Kretzer, William Schilling, Ryan Fisher and Brian Cole placed 10th in the 400 medley relay (3:32.19).
Bucknell swimming and diving will continue to compete in the ECAC Championships on Saturday, Mar.1, and Sunday, Mar. 2.
